Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply in Hammond, IN is seeking a Transfer Truck Driver for the 2nd shift. This full‑time role starts at 3:00 PM and requires strong flatbed hauling experience, a Class A CDL, and prior truck driving credentials to ensure timely deliveries.

You will safely operate various trucks, perform pre/post-trip inspections, follow dispatch directions, unload at customer sites, and keep accurate logs while maintaining high customer service standards. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• DOT Valid Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of prior truck driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of trucks (straight boom truck, semi-tractor trailer).
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any anomalies.
• Follow delivery/pickup instructions from the Dispatch department.
• Unload cargo at customer destinations.
• Keep record of materials and products transported.
• Promptly report all incidents/accidents.
• Maintain daily and monthly trip logs according to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
