Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply Company in Hammond, IN is seeking a Transfer Truck Driver on 2nd shift. The role requires a Class A CDL with flatbed hauling experience and a valid DOT medical card. You will drive, load/unload, and complete pre/post-trip inspections while delivering to customers with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

We value reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work 3:00 PM start time into evenings. Prior trucking experience and a good driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• DOT Valid Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of prior truck driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of trucks (straight boom truck, semi-tractor trailer).
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any anomalies.
• Follow delivery/pickup instructions from the Dispatch department.
• Unload cargo at customer destinations.
• Keep record of materials and products transported.
• Promptly report all incidents/accidents.
• Maintain daily and monthly trip logs according to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
