Job summary

Maryville Academy in Chicago is seeking an Evening Supervisor for the Crisis Nursery (FT). The role oversees the evening shift, supervising multiple childcare workers and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children aged birth to six.

Requirements include an associate or bachelor’s degree in a human services field, at least two years of relevant child-care experience, and a valid IL driver’s license. Must be 25+ and flexible with scheduling.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services related field or Early Childhood.
• Two years of experience working with children birth to six years of age.
• Minimum of 25 years of age and must have a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director in the overall organization and ongoing development of the crisis nursery during the evening shift.
• Direct three or more childcare workers and monitor staff–child interactions to ensure safe, nurturing care.
• Train and supervise childcare workers and volunteers; provide verbal and written consultation; lead shift leadership and coordination.
• Participate in staff meetings; provide input into daily routines and care plans for children needing extra attention.
• Maintain communication with the team to ensure continuity of care and monitor program objectives.
