Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the 5A Medical Surgical unit on the 3pm-11:30pm evening shift. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse, including vital signs, ECGs, and routine nursing tasks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant programs; 1 year of patient care experience preferred. Temple Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or at least one clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program preferred.
• 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN guidance.
• Measure vital signs and perform ECGs and capillary glucose checks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and monitor patient condition.
• Observe equipment and report treatment results or changes to the RN.
