Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Campus Housekeeper for the Midshift Westwood location. This full-time role covers evenings and requires strong cleaning skills, reliability, and teamwork to support a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, performing cleaning procedures across hospital spaces, delivering linen, and assisting with training of new staff as needed. Work is conducted in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Demonstrates competence in critical thinking and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
• Performs cleaning procedures according to cleaning schedule meeting department quality standards.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the cleaning procedures utilized in all facility spaces.
• Follows hospital and department Infection Prevention and Control, Human Resources, and Safety policies and procedures.
• Delivers clean linen, stocking linen carts to established par levels.
• Removes soiled linen and trash, transporting it to the appropriate storage rooms or containers.
• Keeps housekeeping cart and closet clean, safe and orderly; restocks supplies daily.
• Operates and maintains housekeeping equipment safely; reports repairs or hazards.
• May be required to carry a pager or radio for communication; responds promptly.
• Participates in team meetings, training and special programs; assists in on-the-job training.
