Job summary

SDSU Alumni is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Mechanic at the Brawley campus. In this full-time role, you will perform advanced maintenance, repair, and preventative work across campus facilities.

The ideal candidate will have four years of relevant experience and possess a valid California Driver’s License. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting facility issues and coordinating maintenance projects. A competitive salary and benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Skilled mechanical or facilities/building trade experience.
• Ability to perform maintenance and repairs safely.
• Valid California Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance, repair, and renovation work.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and perform repairs.
• Respond to emergency service calls and urgent repairs.

Skills

Ability to lift and transport equipment

Working knowledge of computerized maintenance systems

Knowledge of building and safety codes

Journey-level experience in a trade

Experience estimating costs and materials

Experience in an academic setting

Proficiency in English and Spanish

Education

Four years of experience in mechanical or facilities/building trade
