Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Blood Bank) to join our team on the evening shift (4p-12:30a) with rotating weekends. This full-time MLS will perform complex testing in the blood bank and related areas under supervision.

The MLS ensures quality control, adheres to regulatory requirements, and may supervise Medical Laboratory Technicians. Bachelor’s degree in clinical lab science and certification eligibility (ASCP/AAM or AMT) are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Lab program or Science related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience required. Experience can include clinical practicum time as a student.
• Nationally/Internationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent (ASCP, AAB or AMT) eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of analytical procedures of moderate to high complexity in all areas of the laboratory, using manual and automated methods.
• May oversee procedures being handled by Medical Laboratory Technicians, as needed.
• Operates, calibrates, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment following established procedures.
