Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support clinical staff in the Kansas City, Missouri area. This part-time role (M-F 2-7PM) prioritizes patient care, safety, and engagement of youth in recovery services across inpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• High School education OR equivalent and two (2) years responsible employment history.
• Experience in Human Services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care and Safety: Monitor assigned patients, assist with daily living, de-escalate situations, and notify nursing staff of changes.
• Therapeutic Activities: Plan and lead recreation, leisure, and therapeutic sessions to foster skills and coping.
• Milieu Management: Maintain clean, organized living spaces and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Documentation: Accurately chart observations and interventions in EHR or paper records per policy.
• Team Collaboration: Work with psychiatrists, RNs, social workers, and other clinicians to optimize care.
• Treatment Plan Implementation: Carry out aspects of individualized plans developed by licensed practitioners.
• Client Education: Teach basic psychiatric concepts, triggers, and self-management strategies.
• Discharge Planning: Arrange follow-up care and connect to community resources.
