Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a CRT Behavioral Tech to provide direct patient care and behavioral health support across hospital units. The role integrates clinical observation, therapeutic engagement, and crisis response to promote safety, de-escalation, and recovery.

CPR/BLS certification is required within 30 days, with a minimum of two years in behavioral health or completion of CRT/PCT training. CPCT or RBT certification is preferred, and UAB Medicine emphasizes a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, or patient care OR completion of an in-house CRT/PCT training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and behavioral health support to patients across hospital units, integrating observation, engagement and crisis response for safety and recovery.
• Work closely with nursing staff, CRT Companions and interdisciplinary providers to maintain a safe, supportive environment for behavioral health patients.
