Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a CRT Behavioral Tech to provide direct patient care and behavioral health support across hospital units. The role integrates clinical observation, therapeutic engagement, and crisis response to promote safety, de-escalation, and recovery.

CPR/BLS certification is required within 30 days, with a minimum of two years in behavioral health or completion of CRT/PCT training. CPCT or RBT certification is preferred, and UAB Medicine emphasizes a team-based environment.

Qualifications

Job Description

To provide direct patient care and behavioral health support for patients across hospital units. To integrates clinical observation, therapeutic engagement, and crisis response to promote patient safety, de-escalation, and recovery. The CRT Behavioral Tech works closely with nursing staff, CRT Companions, and interdisciplinary providers to ensure a safe, supportive environment for patients with behavioral health needs.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. CPR/BLS certification will be required within 30 days of employment. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, or patient care OR completion of an in-house CRT/PCT training program required. Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) or Registered Behavioral Tech (RBT) preferred.
