Job summary

Great Oaks Recovery Center in Egypt, Texas is hiring a Behavioral Health Associate for the 3pm–11pm shift. You will be part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, monitor client behaviors, provide supervision, document data, and respond to crises.

This onsite role requires a high school diploma, and preferred experience with the population; CPR and de-escalation training are required or provided on hire. You will help maintain safety, assist with activities, and support treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and supervises at intervals per guidelines.
• Checks clients for contraband and manages belongings.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors and reports to supervisor.
• Engages in activities to promote treatment goals and attendance at groups.
• Facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups covering social, coping, and independent living skills.
• Takes vital signs and communicates any significant changes to the charge nurse.
• Charts in client records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation.
• Assists with unit cleaning, admits/discharge processes, and incident reports.
