Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking an Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist for full-time evening shifts (Sun–Thu, 3:00pm–11:00pm) at City Line 1 & 2 IRAs in New York, NY. The role involves direct support for individuals with I/DD, supervision of staff on shift, and implementation of Behavior Support Plans to promote community inclusion.

Under supervision, ABIS helps with ADLs, data collection, and clinical coordination with the BIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field; 6 months of I/DD experience.
• Foundational certifications: SCIP-R, CPR, AMAP; updated within 6 months.
• Ability to lead and train staff; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with I/DD and promote community inclusion.
• Lead on shift, supervise staff, and coordinate activities per program needs.
• Maintain data collection and documentation; support Behavior Support Plans.
