Job summary

Kennie’s Market Bakery is seeking a Clerk to support the Bakery Manager and Assistant Manager in daily operations, ensuring top quality products and excellent customer service.

The role includes baking donuts, preparing frozen items for the oven, maintaining cleanliness, inspecting equipment, and assisting with fillings and decorations while supporting store promotions and inter-department cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Bake donuts and assist in finishing pastries as needed.
• Prepare frozen foods for the oven and maintain prep areas.
• Keep bakery cases, prep area, floors and coolers clean and sanitary.
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist in filling donuts and other pastries, pies and cakes as required.
• Coordinate with other departments during promotions and store events.
• Assist colleagues in other departments when business needs arise.
• Follow safe food handling practices and company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as directed by bakery management.

TheBakery clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Bakery Manager and or Asst Bakery Manager, and Store Management for the successful operation of the Bakery Department. In addition, this position assumes departmental operational responsibility in the absence of the manager. The Bakery Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all Kennie’s customers are provided with top quality products and the best customer service available.

Requirements

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree(GED) and two(2) to four(4) years related experience and/or training.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions for equipment, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively to our customers and employees.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• Assist workers in other departments when the needs of business require.
• Know what food preparations are necessary and the steps to accomplish them.
• Responsible to obey all safety standards as outlined by the company.
• Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Bakery Manager, Assistant Bakery Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
