Job summary

Red River Commodities in Fargo, ND, seeks a Maintenance Technician - Automation & Electrical Controls to ensure safe, reliable operation of production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and electrical systems across bagging lines and grain-processing equipment.

Working with Production, Engineering, and vendors, you will log work in CMMS, support safety programs, and pursue continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or food production.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, and sensors.
• Experience with electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on bagging lines, conveyors, and grain equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and HMIs.
• Diagnose faults in sensors, actuators, and VFDs.
• Maintain electrical panels, wiring, and control enclosures.
• Collaborate with Operations to minimize downtime.
• Document changes and update CMMS records.
