Job summary

IGHL is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager to support the Residential Manager in the day-to-day operations of the residence and to act in the manager's absence.

This role includes training staff, ensuring on-call coverage, supervising direct care, and maintaining program plans, safety procedures, and confidentiality. You will coordinate with case management, participate in emergency response, and help residents develop daily living skills while upholding IGHL policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with the DD population.
• AMAP, SCIP, Adult CPR, and IGHL Driver Authorization certifications are required per policy.
• Valid NYS driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Implements IGHL personnel policies and trains staff per IGHL protocols.
• Provides 24-hour on-call responsibility when the manager is unavailable.
• Administratively responsible for the residence in the manager's absence, including emergencies and incident reports.
• Maintains adequate staffing according to program limits.
• Assists with orientation of new employees and supervision of consumers.
• Supervises direct care staff to ensure high quality of care.
• Oversees training of consumers in daily living skills and assigns duties.
• Ensures meaningful activities and approves group events.
• Conducts counseling and discipline when needed.
• Completes programmatic component plans semi-annually.
• Conducts fire drills as required and maintains confidentiality.
• Collaborates with case management to access needed services.
• Ensures adherence to safety policies and timely paperwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
