Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health in Somerville, NJ seeks an Assistant Director of Patient Care for Perioperative Support Services. This salaried, evening-shift leadership role oversees OR operations, staffing, and patient flow, partnering with perioperative leaders, surgeons, and anesthesia to maintain efficient daily schedules.
Requirements include BSN, active NJ RN license, 2 years perioperative experience, and BLS/ACLS. CNOR preferred.
Qualifications
- BSN and active RN New Jersey license.
- 2 years of perioperative experience.
- BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Serves as point person for materials management to ensure next day's case needs are ready the evening prior.
- Oversees evening ancillary staff.
- Coordinates with Biomed and Maintenance for equipment issues.
- Supervises evening shift unit clerks/secretaries.
- Provides performance feedback and counseling per hospital policy.
- Maintains awareness of security, life safety and emergency protocols in the OR.
- Maintains open communication with perioperative leaders, OR, SPD, PACU, surgeons and anesthesia providers.
- Leads evening huddles with staff.
