Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Teacher - Adult Education for the Central Office program. The role focuses on high school content areas and Adult Education standards, teaching adults in a structured evening schedule.

Expect collaboration with support staff and ongoing professional development. Classes run in the evenings with prep time built in; responsibilities include tracking attendance, posting grades, and aligning lessons with DESE frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and MA teaching license in the relevant content area.
• State licensure and compliance with MA DESE ACLS standards.
• Experience teaching adults and online learning environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high school level instruction in core topics (ELA, Math, Science, etc.).
• Deliver lessons for diverse abilities with culturally relevant practices.
• Collaborate with leadership and student support teams for academic and social-emotional needs.
• Assist in orientations and student retention efforts through proactive communication.
• Use MA College and Career Readiness Standards and DESE frameworks in instruction.
• Maintain attendance, records, and post grades weekly in ALMA SIS.
