Job Description:

The Evaluation Coordinator supports the Registrar and the mission of the Registrar’s Office by ensuring the accurate and timely evaluation, processing, and maintenance of student academic records. The primary responsibility of this position is the evaluation of post-secondary transfer credit, including reviewing transcripts, updating student records, utilizing applicable processing systems, and verifying course equivalencies and credits in collaboration with Academic Affairs. The Evaluation Coordinator also supports DegreeWorks maintenance, student record updates, state and institutional reporting, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. This role is also required to uphold FERPA, provide exceptional customer service, and perform other duties as assigned. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality, and knowledge of the College’s Student Information System (Banner). The Evaluation Coordinator is expected to represent the College in a professional manner and to support the values, mission, goals, and standards of professional conduct of the College and the Technical College System of Georgia.

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Equipment Used: Standard office equipment.
  • Working Conditions: Category III - No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Travel is rarely required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and One (1) year of related experience. Or an Associate’s degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and Three (3) years of related experience. **Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: related work experience in a Student Records or Registrar’s Office; experience working in a post-secondary educational institution; experience working with Banner or another student information system; experience evaluating post-secondary transcripts and transfer credit; knowledge of student records policies, procedures, and practices; experience working with electronic records management; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

SALARY/BENEFITS

Salary is $45,500/yr. This position is full‐time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in part by State/Local/Tuition funds.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS

Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college. Other Required Tests: No additional tests are required for this position.

Should a candidate be chosen for a 2nd interview, references which support prior work history and employment experience will be contacted. Please note that some employers charge a processing fee to complete employment verifications. If a former employer requires payment to complete employment verification forms, this fee must be paid by the candidate.
