Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Palo Alto seeks a System Software Integration and Validation Engineer to ensure quality and reliability of automotive systems. You will design, develop, and execute verification activities, building automation and test benches for scalable validation across domains.

The role requires a strong background in automotive systems, embedded software, and cross-functional collaboration, with a hybrid onsite work model and periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in the automotive or relevant industry.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, embedded software, and control systems.
• Demonstrated experience with automotive testing instrumentation and tools.
• Proficiency in CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and FlexRay.
• Working knowledge of DBC, LDF, ARXML IDs and related frameworks.
• Experience with HIL test benches (dSPACE, Vector VT).
• Experience writing and executing automated and manual tests.
• Deep EE architecture across domains and cross-functional teamwork.
• Understanding of software lifecycle and automotive testing methodologies.
• System-level debugging across software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain system-level test benches with automation focus.
• Develop verification and validation plans for automotive software systems.
• Design and execute test cases to verify functionality, performance and safety.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to enhance testing efficiency.
• Integrate hardware and software components into scalable test environments.
• Lead debugging with cross-functional teams to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with software, controls and systems engineers on V&V strategies.
• Present verification reports to stakeholders.
• Review warranty data to identify trends and corrective actions.
• Travel up to 20% domestically/internationally.
