Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) is seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to drive supplier selection, negotiate terms, and manage the cradle-to-grave supplier development process for EV components. You will work with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective launches.

The role requires strong experience with RFIs/RFPs, advanced Excel, and global supply chain knowledge, plus willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting or related field from accredited university
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint, required
• Minimum 5 years of related job experience
• Experience in EV components manufacturing and supplier development/launch, preferred
• Bilingual may be required – English and Korean/Spanish fluency beneficial

Responsibilities

• Understand program sourcing and key milestones in support of launch
• Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine price, and select suppliers with Engineering and/or other relevant teams
• Prepare and own RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for multi-year full production volume
• Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, analyze proposals, negotiate with suppliers, and administer contracts
• Negotiate long-term agreements and maintain best-in-class pricing
• Lead cost reduction activities
• Develop all assigned commodities with sourced suppliers meeting specifications and timing
• Evaluate and guide supplier selections; assess core competencies and cost competitiveness
• Direct, manage and guide suppliers through cradle-to-grave processes
• Drive flawless launches at supplier sites with ISIR/PPAP adherence
• Hold meetings with suppliers/partners for issue closure and relationship development
• Continuously negotiate piece price and tooling cost to achieve target vehicle cost
• Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other teams
• Monitor and support prevention of supply chain disruptions
• Collaborate with Engineering (R&D), Quality, and Production Planners
• Maintain up-to-date supply base information database
• Hire, develop, train, and manage buyers
• Meet all other requirements as assigned
