Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer, Mechanical, EV in Fort Valley, GA to join our EV design team. You will use CAD tools to create and refine models, contribute to prototype development, and participate in design reviews to help advance next-generation school buses powered by clean energy.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced engineers, rigorous documentation, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years of Engineering experience with EV powertrain integration.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to create and refine detailed design models and drawings.
• Conduct research and gather data to support design decisions and project development.
• Produce and implement designs, drawings, and test documentation for mechanical system specifications.
• Read and understand applicable FMVSS, state, and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Provide troubleshooting support during design reviews and feedback sessions.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
