Job summary

General Motors is seeking a High Voltage Technician to safely prepare, test, and disassemble EV battery packs in a teardown cell environment. The role focuses on identifying root causes of failures to drive corrective actions in production.

Responsibilities include safe disassembly of battery assemblies, logistics support, and travel to dealer locations to diagnose and ship packs. Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and 25% travel are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
• 2 years related work experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.
• Ability to lift and move battery modules and crates.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel by air and to drive safely, ~25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble high voltage EV battery assemblies safely and document findings.
• Assist with logistics, crating and preliminary tests on battery assemblies.
• Move and rig heavy batteries using forklift and overhead crane, on site.
• Travel to dealer locations to root cause battery issues and ship packs safely.
