Job summary

General Motors is seeking a design engineer to develop math-based definitions and system layouts for electrification assemblies, including high‑voltage batteries and RESS components. You will collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and GM partners to ensure robust virtual vehicle integration and data-driven decisions.

Your work will involve CAD data management, design reviews, and applying standards across vehicle subsystems to deliver high-quality, on-time math releases.

Qualifications

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using NX with Teamcenter and Active Workspace to manage math data.
  • Experience using TCVis to review large vehicle assemblies.
  • Knowledge of the design and release process for automotive components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop math-based design solutions that meet subsystem and component requirements.
  • Create, manage, evaluate, refine, and release math data for advanced components using NX, Teamcenter, and Active Workspace.
  • Develop system layouts and integrate designs into vehicle systems, including RESS-to-vehicle integration.
  • Participate in design reviews by presenting solutions, proposals, and technical recommendations.
  • Ensure seamless communication among subsystem groups, engineers, designers, suppliers, and global partners.
  • Keep the Design Manager and DLT informed of project status, timing, risks, and issues.
