Job summary

ABB E-mobility in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance embedded software and firmware for EV charging solutions. You will work with a global R&D team on requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment from prototype to production.

The role requires collaboration, strong English communication, and hands-on experience with Linux and embedded systems. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience are expected. This position is onsite at our R&D Lab in Bloomfield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Master’s degree or direct EV charging knowledge is a plus.
• Experience programming for embedded software/firmware.
• Strong English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements, define system specifications, and design and enhance embedded software/firmware.
• Plan, perform and document unit tests.
• Analyze test results and present findings at design reviews.
• Interact with technical project managers and product marketing managers.
• Evaluate third‑party and open‑source software modules.
• Support software QA and deployment issues.
