In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be serving permanently in the title of Engineering Technician, or be reachable on the open competitive civil service list in Exam # 2040 or Exam # 5068.
Parking Management, Facilities, and Capital Projects Unit plays a vital role in the development, management, and operation of the City’s municipal parking infrastructure, as well as sustainability initiatives at parking facilities. The unit manages 8 multi-level parking garages and 30 municipal parking fields across the city, with a focus on sustainability and environmental safety.
The Facilities Management & Sustainability Projects Group seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Engineering Technician to support the City’s EV charging infrastructure and operational functions of parking facilities. Responsibilities include planning and oversight of EV charging stations, parking structure inspections, parking layout design, and vendor coordination. The role involves fieldwork, technical design, data analysis, and documentation.
This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program.

Hours: 35 Hrs. / M-F / 7 am – 3 pm
High school diploma or equivalent + 2 years full-time experience as an engineering technician, OR an Associate degree in engineering technology, OR equivalent education and experience. Specific experience in autoCAD, EV infrastructure, or parking design is preferred.
License: Valid NY State Motor Vehicle Driver License required for some positions.
