Parking Management, Facilities, and Capital Projects Unit plays a vital role in the development, management, and operation of the City’s municipal parking infrastructure as well as sustainability initiatives at parking facilities. The unit is responsible for managing 8 multi‑level parking garages and 30 municipal parking fields across the city. Our mission is to integrate sustainability practices and environmental safety into municipal parking facilities.
The Facilities Management & Sustainability Projects Group is seeking a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Engineering Technician to assist in advancing the City’s EV charging infrastructure and supporting key operational functions of municipal parking facilities. The selected candidate will play a vital role in both the planning and operational oversight of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, the general upkeep and inspection of parking structures, and the design of parking layouts and traffic devices. This position requires a combination of fieldwork, technical design support, data analysis, and vendor coordination. The selected candidate will be tasked with the following:

For Assignment Levels I – II
One year of experience credit will be given for each 30 semester credits for college education leading to a degree from an accredited college in engineering technology. However, all candidates must have at least a high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
For assignment to certain positions, the candidate must possess at the time of appointment or assignment a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.
