Job summary

Gotion Inc. in Manteno, IL is seeking a Thermal Engineer – Battery Systems to lead engineering decisions for battery cells, modules, and packs.

You will drive cooling plate design, thermal propagation mitigation, and collaborate with US OEMs and internal teams on simulations and validation activities onsite. The role requires a deep understanding of battery pack technology, 3+ years in thermal design, and proficiency with COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+ and CATIA V6.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in high voltage battery pack thermal design and simulations.
• Proficiency with CAE tools for thermal/CFD simulations and design tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal/CFD simulations to analyze thermal performance of battery packs and modules.
• Collaborate with US OEM customers and internal teams to drive pack designs from concept to mass production.
• Coordinate with offshore simulation teams to manage end-to-end analysis and ensure quality and timing.
• Present technical findings and trade-offs to leadership with recommended actions.
• Work with Product design, manufacturing, test, and supply chain teams to provide simulation-driven input; engage with suppliers.
