You will crack insular corporate cultures, build high-value sources, and dissect complex capital structures to deliver impactful scoops and in-depth features.

This role requires deep experience in corporate beats, a proven track record of breaking news, and the ability to collaborate across data, investigative, and multimedia teams.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional journalism experience covering major corporate beats or equivalent.
• Ability to break high-profile corporate news with original angles.
• Strong sourcing practices including FOIA requests and document mining.
• Experience building sources across boardrooms, factories, and regulatory agencies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Deliver impactful scoops on Tesla, Rivian, Waymo, and EV/AV startups.
• Develop deep networks of sources across automotive tech and regulators.
• Publish enterprise features that analyze technology, capital structures, and strategy.
• Identify proprietary angles on breaking stories to stand out in coverage.
• Pitch across beats as needed and collaborate with data, visual, investigative, and video teams.
• Work with reporters and editors globally on auto industry coverage including SpaceX and Neuralink.
