Job summary

Commonwealth Motors is seeking flat rate technicians to join a family‑owned shop in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have a strong automotive background, be comfortable working on VW/Audi and European vehicles, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

The role involves diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems, performing tests with diagnostic tools, and communicating repair needs and timelines to the Service Advisor. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong automotive background required.
• Teamwork skills are essential for a productive shop.
• Clean and valid driver’s license is a must.
• Experience with VW/Audi makes a candidate more competitive.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on repair orders efficiently and per dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to evaluate systems.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about needed additional repairs and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test‑drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications
