Job summary

Ascendant seeks a Research Analyst for a full-time, multi-year contract tied to USTDA. The role focuses on rigorous research, program monitoring and evaluation, with administrative support across Europe and Eurasia.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant professional research experience
• Bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree preferred
• Education in Public Administration, Public Policy, International Relations, International Development, International Trade, Economics, or related fields
• Regional knowledge and experience preferred; Energy or Civil Nuclear knowledge is a plus
• Foreign language skills are a plus
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to conduct sophisticated research using numerous resources
• Ability to compile and analyze data and provide recommendations based on statistical analysis
• Ability to analyze programs and processes to determine effectiveness
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Proficiency in internet research and databases
• Must be detail oriented and format professional-grade documents for public dissemination
• Strong writing skills to draft and edit reports, briefing books, letters and other correspondence
• High degree of organization and time management
• Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to obtain Secret-level security clearance with the US Government and pass public trust background checks

Responsibilities

• Perform substantive research, program monitoring and evaluation for USTDA portfolios
• Provide administrative support for project activities in Europe and Eurasia
• Draft and edit reports, briefing books and related correspondence
• Analyze programs and processes for effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations
• Conduct internet research and manage multiple information sources
• Format professional documents for public dissemination
• Coordinate with teams using MS Office and collaboration tools
