Burns Auto Group in Denver, CO seeks an experienced automotive leader to join our European shop management track. You’ll start in a Service Advisor role, learn our SOPs, culture, and expectations, and build relationships with technicians and leaders you’ll someday lead.

We’ll assess your leadership in action, with the goal of promoting from within as opportunities arise, leveraging your European vehicle knowledge and strong customer service background.

Qualifications

Burns Auto Group is looking for an experienced automotive professional with leadership or management experience who is ready to learn our organization and position themselves to lead one of our European specialty shops.

This is not an entry-level management opportunity, and we're not looking to teach someone how to lead a shop from scratch.

We're looking for someone who already knows how to lead—and is willing to learn how we do it.

Burns Auto Group operates seven independently branded automotive repair shops across Colorado, including multiple shops specializing in European vehicles.

As our company continues to grow, so do our current leaders.

The Opportunity

The right person may initially join Burns Auto Group in a Service Advisor role at one of our European specialty shops.

That's intentional—and it's not because we're looking for an inexperienced manager.

Before someone takes responsibility for one of our locations, we want them to understand our processes, our procedures, our culture, and our expectations firsthand.

You’ll work within our operation, learn our SOPs, understand how we manage the customer experience and shop workflow, and build relationships with the technicians, advisors, and leadership team you’ll eventually be responsible for leading.

At the same time, we’ll have the opportunity to see your leadership in action.

Our goal is to have you prepared to step into shop management as one of our current leaders advances within the company.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of automotive experience, leadership experience, and European vehicle knowledge.

The right candidate should:

• Have automotive leadership or management experience
• Have strong Service Advisor experience
• Have experience with European vehicles and customers
• Understand the day-to-day operation of a successful independent repair shop
• Understand sales, workflow, car count, productivity, gross profit, and profitability
• Know how to lead and motivate a team
• Be comfortable holding people accountable
• Build trust with both customers and technicians
• Take ownership and solve problems
• Understand that strong leadership requires both people skills and business skills
• Be willing to learn our processes before taking responsibility for one of our shops
• Want to build a long-term career with a growing automotive organization

My name is Ben Burns, and I own seven automotive repair shops throughout the Denver area.

I started this company after working in shops where employees weren’t appreciated. I promised myself that if I ever owned my own business, we’d do things differently.
