EU Software Engineer — Frontend & Backend, Real-Time AI

Job summary

Outset, a fast-growing AI-powered research platform, is seeking a senior software engineer in the United States to own frontend and backend development. You will work across the stack to build scalable web apps and deliver features for enterprise customers.

You will collaborate with sales and customer success, design robust interfaces with React/Next.js and Python/Django, and integrate REST/GraphQL APIs on AWS. A strong focus on UI/UX and real-time data is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade frontend and backend systems.
• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience building scalable, responsive web applications.
• Familiarity integrating frontend applications with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong proficiency with Python and Django, including experience building robust APIs.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Experience deploying and managing services on AWS.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
• Bonus points for familiarity with real-time data visualization, real-time data streaming and export, WebRTC, or AI/ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with our sales and customer support teams, and play a key role in driving Outset’s EU expansion.
• Interface directly with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and build specific features to address them.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, ensuring timely resolution of all technical questions and issues.
• Be a key part of the team providing global operational support for the platform.
• Design, develop, and optimize intuitive, user-friendly frontend interfaces using React and Next.js.
• Build robust and responsive components that seamlessly integrate with backend services and APIs.
• Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and real-time data processing infrastructure.
• Implement and refine our in-house Large Language Model and real-time interview technology.
• Lead customer-facing projects from initial conception through production deployment, ensuring scalability, responsiveness, and reliability.
