Job summary

Bootminds is seeking an experienced ETL Tester with 6+ years of data warehousing, ETL testing, and analytics validation. The role covers backend data validation and frontend reporting/dashboard testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity across BI solutions.

Responsibilities include validating ETL pipelines, performing data validation, and testing reports using Power BI or Tableau. Collaboration with data engineers and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of ETL/Data Warehouse testing experience.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and data validation.
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI testing (Power BI/Tableau).
• Familiar with SDLC, Agile, and defect-tracking tools (JIRA/Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Validate ETL processes, data transformations, and migrations.
• Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.
• Develop and execute test cases and scripts for ETL workflows.
• Verify data quality, accuracy, and integrity across systems.
• Execute SQL queries to confirm data loads and rules.
• Review mappings, specs, and data models; log defects and retest.
• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to resolve issues.
• Test backend data and frontend reporting in BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
• Validate reports, dashboards, and KPI calculations; ensure data consistency.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedETL Testerwith 6+ years of experience in data warehousing, ETL testing, and analytics validation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in bothbackend data validationandfrontend reporting/dashboard testing, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across enterprise data platforms and BI solutions.

The role requires hands‑on experience in validating complex ETL pipelines, performing database testing, analyzing source-to-target mappings, and testing reports and dashboards developed using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Key Responsibilities

Backend / ETL Testing

• Validate ETL processes, data transformations, and data migration activities.
• Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.
• Develop and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts for ETL workflows.
• Validate data quality, completeness, accuracy, and integrity across systems.
• Execute SQL queries to verify data loads and business rule implementations.
• Analyze mapping documents, technical specifications, and data models.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects through closure.
• Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to resolve issues.

Frontend / Reporting Testing

• Validate reports, dashboards, and visualizations for data correctness.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for BI solutions like PBI, Tableau and MS Fabrics.
• Verify KPIs, metrics, calculations, filters, drill-downs, and dashboard interactions.
• Ensure consistency between backend data sources and frontend reports.
• Validate report performance, usability, and business requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Prepare test plans, test cases, execution reports, and defect reports.
• Participate in requirement reviews and estimation activities.
• Support release validation and production deployment testing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation initiatives.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in ETL/Data Warehouse Testing.
• Strong SQL skills with hands‑on experience in complex queries and data validation.
• Experience in ETL testing using tools such as Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, Star/Snowflake Schemas, and Data Marts.
• Experience in validating large datasets and complex business transformations.
• Experience in frontend testing of Power BI, Tableau, MS Fabric or similar BI platforms.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices.
• Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
