Job summary

ICF is seeking a Data Engineer in Reston, VA to join a team delivering data solutions for utility and energy clients. You will design and optimize ETL processes, work with SSIS packages, and collaborate with analysts to ensure accurate data delivery across systems.

Initial ramp requires in-office presence 2–3 days per week, then about 1 day weekly; occasional travel to other ICF locations. Strong SQL skills and a CS degree are required, with 2+ years in SQL and 1+ year in SSIS.

What You Will Be Doing

Our business analysts, senior developers, and architects will share requirements and solution designs, and you\'ll collaborate with the team to help build and support data integration solutions. Your daily tasks will be highly varied and could include developing solutions, monitoring their executions for anomalies, and troubleshooting problems that might arise from bad data.

Initial ramp up will require travel to our Reston HQ approximately 2 - 3 days a week. After that, candidates will be required to go into the office approximately 1 time per week. Rarely, there could be a need for travel for a conference or to another ICF location for collaboration. You may be required to participate in periodic drug testing and background checks.

Qualifications

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or similar field
• 2+ years experience working with SQL (e.g., query tuning, writing procedures/functions, building views)
• 1+ year(s) experience developing/optimizing SSIS packages with design to maximize flexibility and standardization

What We Would Like You To Have

• Experience with working with SSIS parameterized packages in a project solution using standard SDLC.
• Critical thinking skills / questioning why the requirements are what they are
• Experience consuming APIs as data sources/destinations
• Exposure to the utility, energy, and/or energy efficiency sectors

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
