Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced ETL Data Engineer with GraphQL expertise to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Google BigQuery and modern data processing frameworks. You will work with GraphQL APIs, Spark, and distributed query engines in a cloud-based environment.

The role emphasizes data governance, quality, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions for financial services clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with ETL/ELT development and data integration.
• Strong hands-on with Google BigQuery including data modeling and cost management.
• Experience developing and consuming GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark-based processing frameworks.
• Expertise with Starburst, Trino, or Presto for distributed query processing.
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance.
• Experience working in cloud-based data environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Build and optimize GraphQL-based data access layers and integrations.
• Develop and optimize data models, queries, and workloads in Google BigQuery.
• Implement large-scale data processing solutions using Python, SQL, and Spark.
• Utilize Starburst, Trino, or Presto for distributed query processing and analytics.
• Orchestrate and monitor data workflows using Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or similar tools.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across data platforms.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data pipelines for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
