Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC in Chicago seeks a senior SQL Server professional to design, optimize, and maintain data platforms. You will own T-SQL development, ETL pipelines with SSIS, and data migration projects while implementing HA/DR and performance tuning.

You will also collaborate with stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable data services and leverage BI tooling for reporting needs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), TS-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• 5+ years designing and implementing ETL pipelines using SSIS and ETL best practices.
• 5+ years in database architecture, data modeling, schema design, and large-scale data migration/conversion projects.
• 4+ years Windows Server (2008+), database platform deployment/administration.
• 4+ years developing automation using Microsoft .NET, including PowerShell scripting, ASP.NET, and C#.
• 4+ years implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, Mirroring, Log Shipping).

Job description

6+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 through current), T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.

5+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL best practices.

5+ years of experience in database architecture, data modeling, schema design, and executing large-scale data migration/conversion projects.

4+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2008 through current) and database platform deployment/administration.

4+ years of experience developing automation and application components using Microsoft .NET technologies, including PowerShell scripting, ASP.NET, and C#.

4+ years of experience implementing SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping).

4+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Experience with cloud database platforms and migration tools (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, AWS RDS).
• Familiarity with T-SQL unit testing frameworks (e.g., tSQLt) and automated database CI/CD using Git/Azure DevOps.
• Experience with BI tooling and reporting (SSRS, Power BI) and data governance practices.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management and presenting technical designs to enterprise and client audiences.
