Job summary

CSU Stanislaus in Turlock is seeking a Temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant in the Ethnic Studies Department. The role supports event flyer design, front-desk inquiries, student greetings, and basic administrative tasks, with opportunities to assist social media updates.

Start date is on or after September 14, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2027, with potential reappointment based on budget and job performance. Compensation ranges $16.90–$17.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be enrolled in at least four Fall/Spring units.
• Experience using Canva or similar design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and create flyers for department events using Canva or similar tools.
• Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries about the Ethnic Studies Department.
• Greet students and visitors, providing assistance as needed.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as organizing materials and maintaining department resources.
• Support social media efforts by sharing department events and updates.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Undergraduate student enrolled in at least 6 Fall/Spring units

Graduate student in a post-baccalaureate program enrolled in at least 4 Fall/Spring units
