Job summary

Volarify in Merrillville, IN is seeking an Estimator to join our residential, commercial, and industrial teams. You will create and manage estimates using Xactimate, develop floor plans, review budgets, and communicate progress with clients and management.

The role requires strong customer service, familiarity with building codes, MSDS awareness, and the ability to work with vendors. You’ll maintain schedules and pursue training for higher estimator levels.

Qualifications

• English literacy and fluency.
• Understanding of MSDS data sheets and their applicability to jobs.
• Ability to use Our Client's Estimate Format Standards for Xactimate estimates, proposals, etc.
• Extensive customer service experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Xactimate.
• Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent telephone skills.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional interactions with co-workers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain local-area clientele, primarily insurance adjusters.
• Create accurate floor plans in Xactimate Sketch.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable building codes.
• Create and adhere to budgets and address overages.
• Use Our Client's naming conventions for estimates and change orders.
• Maintain construction schedules and coordinate with trades and management.
• Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency with decontamination, mitigation, and demolition techniques.
• Participate in training for estimator certifications.
• Independently manage assigned work.
• Maintain vehicle safety and inspections.
• Complete accident, injury, and incident reporting forms.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills.
