Job summary

Network Controls & Electric, LLC in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead take-offs, cost analysis, and quotes for telecommunications and low voltage projects. You will collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

Responsibilities include RFIs, BOM accuracy, site visits, supplier coordination, and delivering clear scope of work with each RFQ. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience within the telecommunications Low Voltage Systems industry OR strong estimating experience.
  • Experience supporting executive level management.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills including listening and speaking.
  • Strong organizational skills including record keeping, time management and follow-up.
  • Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency, with emphasis on quality of work.
  • Experience with public utilities, federal, state, local governments and commercial installations.
  • Ability to analyze and understand blueprints/project drawings/plans, specifications and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material and labor estimates.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Perform take-offs and prepare quotes for customers and prospective clients.
  • Work closely with customers to understand product and part specifications and respond to detailed questions and inquiries.
  • Apply knowledge of company operations, industry standards, and mathematical skills to calculate labor hours, materials, and outside services required to produce a quote from a customer request.
  • Provide accurate estimates in response to quotation requests from company accounts and positively influence their buying decisions.
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings and meet with vendors as required.
  • Update the Estimating & Engineering Coordinator with database system information to track projects in coordination with the Sales Team.
  • Develop and submit RFIs to clarify customer project expectations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding quotations.
  • Interact professionally with customers and contractor personnel.
  • Collaborate with other estimators handling different aspects of bids and quotes.
  • Work independently and interface directly with executive-level customers.
  • Ensure an accurate bill of materials accompanies each RFQ, showing material quantity, description, and part numbers when requested.
  • Carefully review RFQ assumptions, noting that each quote may carry specific and differing assumptions.
  • Convey detailed project information to Project Managers and Field Technicians during kick-off meetings and throughout existing projects to assist in problem-solving.
  • Provide a detailed scope of work (SOW) with each RFQ, enabling the customer to clearly understand the proposal and allowing Project Managers and Technicians to understand the installation process and specifications.
  • Assist with projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering & Estimating.
  • Manage change in a controlled and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
