Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Estimator to produce accurate quantity take-offs, review plans and specifications, and develop pricing for project elements. You will coordinate pricing with vendors, apply WBS, and contribute to key estimating deliverables.

Travel up to 10% or less may be required; domestic and international opportunities exist. The role requires reading drawings, cost control, and strong communication while helping to develop budgets with senior staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 5 years related experience.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Equivalent additional related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate quantity take-offs by reviewing plans, specs and instructions.
• Enter quantity take-offs and material unit pricings.
• Apply work breakdown structure (WBS).
• Coordinate estimate material pricing with vendors and other sources.
• Contact subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Contribute to preparation of key estimating deliverables.
• Support conceptual estimating efforts and development of basic models.
• Develop budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate flow of documents during estimate preparation.
• Provide administrative logging of estimates.
• Perform additional duties as required.
