Job summary

RCS is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to lead bid development for residential and commercial projects. The role bridges clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and operations throughout pre-construction, demanding accuracy and timely bids.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience (residential and/or commercial).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PlanSwift, SketchUp.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, detailed project estimates and formal bids in a timely manner.
• Interface directly with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify full scope of work and proactively address potential issues before submission.
• Coordinate and conduct job site walks.
• Prepare pricing request documents for subcontractors.
• Draft contracts and negotiate revisions or changes as needed.
• Assist in preparing rough project schedules (Critical Path Method preferred).
• Transition awarded projects to operations with complete documentation for kickoff.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key customers and industry professionals.
• Participate in networking events to expand referral opportunities.

Position Overview

Physical Requirements

1. Regular use of computer and office equipment
