Job summary

Syndeo Staffing is seeking a detail-driven residential construction Estimator to support custom and production homebuilding projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to estimate labor, material and time requirements. Translate blueprints into cost estimates, ensuring accuracy across all materials, quantities and costs.

Syndeo has a direct hire opportunity for a detail-driven residential construction Estimator to support custom & production homebuilding projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to estimate labor, material, and time requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for translating blueprints into accurate, computer-based cost estimates, ensuring every material, quantity, and cost is accounted for and estimated accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and construction plans to develop accurate, line-by-line cost estimates for residential projects
• Perform on-screen takeoffs using PlanSwift software to determine material quantities
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors
• Combine data into comprehensive estimates that reflect full project costs
• Enter and manage estimating data within the Mark Systems ERP, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the system
• Analyze and problem-solve within the ERP environment, adapting a production-focused system to support custom build needs
• Track material price fluctuations and project costs to ensure compliance with the budget and protect profit margins
• Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and leadership to validate assumptions, quantities, and pricing
• Maintain organized documentation and version control of estimates and supporting data and continuously look for ways to improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and system usage

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in residential or commercial construction estimating
• Strong proficiency in Excel and computer-based estimating workflows
• Hands-on experience with PlanSwift or similar on-screen takeoff software preferred
• Comfort working within ERP systems, with the ability to figure out how systems work and adapt them to real-world workflows, Mark Systems experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach and the ability to think analytically
