Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an estimator for our Virginia/Norfolk area to produce accurate quantity take-offs, pricing, and budgets for project estimates. You will coordinate with vendors and subcontractors and support the development of estimating deliverables to help drive bids and proposals.

The role requires ability to read drawings, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, with travel up to 10% or less. A high school diploma and 5 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Possesses knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications, identify missing elements.
• Strong PC skills including estimating and on-screen digitizing software.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs from plans and specs.
• Enters take-offs and unit pricing for estimates.
• Develops pricing for basic project elements with vendors.
• Coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Assists in preparing key estimating deliverables and budgets.
