Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking an Estimator - Quantity Takeoff for a direct hire, onsite role in the Greater New Rochelle area. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare bid documentation for bid submissions.

Required BS in Engineering/Construction Management with 5+ years heavy civil estimating; proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, Excel, Primavera P6 and SmartBid is expected. Salary range reflects experience and location.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years in heavy civil construction with a General Contractor.
• 3 years in Estimating.
• Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, Excel, Primavera P6 and SmartBid.

Responsibilities

• Review contract plans, specs and documents for assigned bid items.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for bid items.
• Prepare bid documents, RFIs and RFCs; log and submit."
• Develop clear write-ups for SOQ/RFP proposals and assist in bid submission.
• Support Joint Venture bids by reconciling quantities and coordinating with team.

Job description

JSG is seeking an Estimator - Quantity Takeoff for a direct hire, onsite position for our well established Civil Construction client in the Greater New Rochelle area.

DESCRIPTION: Conduct a thorough review of the contract plans, specifications and other documents for the bid items assigned. Perform detailed quantity take-offs for the bid items assigned. Know general requirements and special conditions. Be aware of the proposal requirements and discuss with Lead Estimator. Identify unusual items, if any. File and update bid documents. Submit and log RFIs and RFCs. Solicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare HCSS comparison sheets. Assist in preparing the bid schedule. Identify D/M/WBE requirements, prepare GFE using SmartBid. Develop clear write-ups and documentation required for SOQ / RFP type proposals. Assist in the preparation of documents for bid and proposal submission. For Joint Venture bids, compare and reconcile quantities. Able to communicate and work well with others (team player). Able to take direction well and not afraid to ask questions or for assistance.

REQUIREMENTS: BS in Engineering or Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution is preferred. Minimum experience of 5 years in heavy civil construction working with a General Contractor to include 3 years in Estimating. Fluent with the following software: HCSS Heavy Bid Blue Beam Excel Primavera P6 SmartBid

Salary Range: $90k - $150k #D800 **
