Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled estimator to join our cost, planning and procurement team. You will produce accurate quantity take-offs, price materials, coordinate vendor quotes, and develop budgets for complex projects, ensuring competitive bid proposals.

The role requires reading drawings and specifications, strong software skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment; travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years of related estimating experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel 10% or less may be required.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs by reviewing plans, specs, and instructions for estimate preparation.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material unit pricing for project estimates.
• Coordinates estimate material pricing from vendors and other sources.
• Develops budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight from senior estimation staff.
• Coordinates flow of documents during estimate preparation.
• Provides administrative logging of estimates.
