Qualifications

  • Five years progressive estimating and project management experience required.
  • Experience in management and road construction materials highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Things You’ll Do

  • Capable of negotiating and winning large commercial excavation projects.
  • Manage schedule, labor, materials and equipment resources, and contract documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
  • Assist in supervision of field operations; establish relationships with owners/agencies.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to deter-mine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Competency in bidding, scheduling, take off, accounting, and Microsoft software programs.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client

Requirements

  • 4 year Engineering/Construction Management degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
  • Five years of progressive estimating and project management.
  • Experience in management and road construction materials.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills
  • Ability to review and analyze financial information
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint software, Primavera scheduling software, MicroStation and Inroads design software, Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid software and basic surveying and measuring equipment
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, superior in Excel
  • Ability to organize all aspects of the project and foresee and resolve project conflicts
