Lee Industrial Contracting, based in Michigan, seeks an experienced estimator/PM to support industrial machine repair projects. The role involves field site visits, developing accurate scopes of work, and coordinating with estimators and sales to prepare bid packages.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in industrial repair, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to read drawings. Local travel ~25% is expected for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in industrial machine repair.
• Willingness to travel ~25% of the time.
• Ability to read and understand single line drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Office.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend site visits to review site conditions and develop an accurate scope of work.
• Prepare detailed labor and material take-offs using estimating methods.
• Review supplier, distributor & subcontractor proposals to include in the bid package.
• Participate in finalizing a complete scope of work with other estimators and Sales for client bids.
• Follow up on requested revisions with Sales and suppliers during the proposal period.
• Ensure safety protocols are identified and communicated to the field.
• Manage material, equipment and manpower for assigned projects.
• Attend project meetings and site reviews.
• Assist with pricing, vendor selection, permits, and project documentation as needed.
• May be required to be on-site depending on customer/project requirements.
• Attend safety, training, and other meetings as required.

Estimation Responsibilities Include

• Attend site visits to review site conditions and develop an accurate scope of work.
• Prepare detailed labor and material take-offs using estimating methods.
• Review and submit supplier, distributor & subcontractor proposals to include in the bid package.
• Participate in the process of finalizing a complete scope of work in combination with other trade estimators and the Sales Department for submission to clients.
• Follow up on requested revisions with the Sales Department and suppliers during the proposal period.

Project Management Responsibilities Include

• Ensure all safety protocols are identified and communicated to the field.
• Attend site visits to review the progress of the project.
• Manage the requirements for material, equipment and manpower for assigned projects.
• Attend project meetings and site reviews.
• Upon award of contracts, review pricing and assist with selecting compliant vendors and subcontractors for the purpose of issuing purchase orders, apply for required permits, review the project details and estimates with the field supervisor prior to the start date.
• Ensure accurate and complete information regarding the project requirements are communicated to field personnel assigned to the project on a daily basis through both verbally and in writing using the job ticket system.
• Determine the scope of change orders as the project progresses using appropriate estimating methods.
• Assist with Billing and invoice preparation and payment assistance when required.
• May be required to be on-site depending on customer/project requirements.
• Attend safety, training, sales, strategy and other meetings as required.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in industrial machine repair
• Travel both locally and out of state approximately 25% of the time.
• Project coordination experience.
• Good communication and organization skills will be essential.
• Experience with estimating software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and MS Project
• OSHA 30 or 510 certifications are a plus
• The ability to read and understand single line drawings, building blueprints, and specifications.
• Willingness to learn.
• Be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
• Be able to manage time well.
• To be accountable to yourself and your co-workers.
