Job Overview
Workman Industrial Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team in Northeast Ohio. In this dual-role position, you will both estimate projects during pre-construction and manage project delivery once awarded - helping ensure each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is ideal for a candidate who understands takeoffs, bid strategy, and project management best practices in heavy construction, particularly water/wastewater treatment plant work. You will have the opportunity to manage projects from pre-construction through closeout, working closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Estimating Duties
- Accurately estimate projects individually or as part of a team.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material estimates.
- Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Analyze design drawings and project specifications to create competitive and accurate bids.
- Understand and interpret construction contracts and bid requirements.
- Submit bids through BX or other bidding platforms.
- Project Management Duties
- Oversee awarded projects from start to finish, both in office and field.
- Create detailed project schedules and manage project timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams.
- Track costs, cash flow, and job cost analysis throughout the project.
- Issue purchase orders and manage submittals.
- Lead weekly project meetings; prepare meeting minutes and documentation.
- Prepare and submit monthly project reports and RFIs.
- Verify applications for payment and manage contract administration.
- Generate and manage punch lists and closeout procedures.
- Ensure project schedule adherence and proactive problem-solving.
- Work closely with field superintendents and crews to ensure project quality and success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred (construction management, engineering, or related field).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating and project management.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, methods, and materials.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, construction documents, and bid specifications.
- Familiar with Procore, Microsoft Project, and general office software.
- Experience bidding through BX or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
- Ability to work both in the office and in the field as required.
