Bristol Environmental LLC is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized Estimator/Project Manager in our Baltimore, MD branch to develop project opportunities, prepare accurate estimates and proposals, and manage projects from start to completion. The ideal candidate is proactive, responsive, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Builds relationships with past clients such as Consultants, Contractors, Facilities representative, Governmental agencies, etc., for the services of the Company.
- Follows up on relationships and works to secure projects for the Company on all open opportunities.
- Seeks out and develops business relations as potential clients for the Company.
- Develops, submits, searches for and follows up on bid leads from various sources including those from iSqft, BlueBook and other lead sources.
- Walks projects, creates bids, assists with pre-project set up, pre-job documentation, and post project documentation.
- Ensures all projects meet OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards by conducting risk assessments, coordinating with branch safety coordinators, and overseeing compliance with BEI safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Provides project management for acquired projects as well as project management for assigned projects.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meetings, construction progress meetings and gather project information as needed on own projects as well as on directly managed projects.
- Assists other Company offices as assigned; typical duties, to walk projects for other estimators/project managers and provide project management for jobs that originated from other offices.
- Communicate with clients on project timelines, safety requirements, and scope changes, serving as the primary safety contact.
- Collaborate with field operations to ensure that the workforce is current on training and safety procedures on the job site.
- Review and understand project documents at a conceptual and schematic level
- Complete on-screen takeoff of project
- Preparation of internal estimates based on use of historical cost information from completed work
- Preparation of proposal information for clients
- Produce accurate budgets from conceptual and schematic design phases through final estimates that are consistent with the organization’s goals and strategy
Bid Process
- Prepare and maintain status of plan reproduction
- Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare subcontractor and vendor bid packages
- Ensure proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day
Project Management
- Schedule resources, labor, material, and equipment for timely completion of job
- Work with field team to ensure goals are met
- Work with operations to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all project documentation including supervisor submission of project timesheets, weekly toolbox talks, incident reports, and project daily logs.
- Ensures paperwork, permits, and licenses are in place to meet timing
- Ensure field team, sub-contractors and other resources keep project on schedule to avoid delays and extra costs.
Education and Experience
- Estimating experience preferred
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- Prior experience in asbestos abatement, lead and mold remediation and selective demolition desirable
