Job summary

E&B Paving seeks an Estimator/Project Manager to drive bids, budgets, and overall project execution in Indiana. You will serve as a liaison to clients and field teams, ensuring accurate takeoffs, scheduling, and financial controls.

You will manage INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects, coordinate subcontractors, and support billing and receivables. Strong communication and organization are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating and managing INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of INDOT specifications, Excel, Word, and Project.
• Experience with digitizing takeoff software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Purpose of Position

An Estimator / Project Manager plays a key role in the overall operations of E&B Paving. This person is a customer service representative who has internal and external customers. The external customers are new and existing clients. Internal customers are his/her fellow co-workers and teammates. It is their responsibility to be actively involved in projects, from bidding to collection. They must understand all aspects of the project and offer assistance to the field when needed. Communication amongst all parties is vital to success. Communication includes verbal and non-verbal cues. Non-verbal communication includes paperwork given to the field. The estimator project manager must learn to prioritize their tasks and utilize their time appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains existing business relationships and creates new opportunities
• Responsible for takeoffs, contacting subcontractors, contacting suppliers, estimating, and project management
• Works closely with field superintendents
• Assists the contract administrator with billing and receivables

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 yrs. experience estimating and managing INDOT, municipal, and commercial projects.
• Must have extensive knowledge of INDOT specifications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project as well as digitizing takeoff software
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written &️ verbal
• Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid and/or Heavy Job programs is beneficial

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent related experience. Professional Engineers with construction experience preferred.

Compensation

Dependent on experience and qualifications.
